Change is hard, but it can get better.

If someone told me I would be here starting my own practice even 5 years ago, I would have laughed. Life can take some huge turns in events and you honestly don’t always know where that will lead you.

The recipe I came up with for myself, is also how I help others.

    2+cups -people who support you

    1 cup – humor

    5 cups- empathy and understanding

2 cups- things you enjoy, books tv shows (I love to read!)

3 cups- coping skills and making sure they are healthy ones for you

2 tbsp- brutal honesty and being open about where you are at

a dash- of creative energy and metaphors to provide another perspective on what you’re feeling

There are points where things that were “fun” become distractions from feeling your emotions, or you just don’t feel joy in those things you used to do all of the time, and then days when you used to get out of bed for work or school on time, turn into snoozing your alarm to the very last minute. These little changes can be signs that you are losing your spark because you have too much on your plate. When you’re struggling, it is so difficult to ask for help and it takes courage to reach out. I want you to know you’re not alone in this.

I work primarily with individuals teens through adults. We would be a good fit if you: have been diagnosed with ADHD now or late in life, are highly sensitive or empathetic and need to create boundaries and voice your needs. Also if you have periods of flashbacks or have nightmares, high amounts of stress leading to physical symptoms like migraines or “gut problems”, or even experiencing just constant state of overwhelm like your body is on high alert because of the trauma or abuse that you have endured that leads to depression, anxiety, panic attacks, burnout, and/or self-harm.

I believe a trusting, connected, and empathetic relationship is very important as well as being a good fit. I am certified in EMDR which allows you to process trauma and fear responses in a healthier manner, it’s hard work, but I will be with you the entire journey. The additional treatment modalities used in session are acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), expressive arts and internal family systems (IFS).

You don’t deserve to have your inner voice silenced or to feel not good enough because of what life has thrown at you.

We can figure out why you’re stuck, why you’re sitting on your phone for 3 hours instead of being present, why you’re struggling to communicate your needs and ask for help, or just why you can’t seem to stop feeling exhausted all of the time.

It’s time to enter into a space where you can feel challenged, empowered, and given coping skills to create changes in your life.
